Short answer: Draftbit’s pricing page lists Standard at US$144 a year (or US$15 month to month) and Pro at US$288 a year (or US$30 month to month), with a free plan and custom-priced Enterprise. That is about AED 529 and AED 1,058 a year for one editor, but the licence only buys the tool: someone still has to design, build, test and ship the app. A fixed-scope custom app from Aquarius starts at AED 10,000, built and launched by our team, with code you own.
Draftbit is an AI-assisted visual builder for mobile apps, web apps and websites. Unlike most no-code tools, its paid plans include full code editing and export, so you are not locked in. That makes it a serious option for Dubai founders and in-house developers. The real decision is not about the subscription, which is small. It is about who does the work, how long it takes, and what the plan tiers include. This guide sets Draftbit’s published 2026 plans against a custom build.
Key takeaways
- Draftbit lists Free, Standard (US$144 a year or US$15 a month), Pro (US$288 a year or US$30 a month) and Enterprise at custom annual pricing.
- Full code editing and export, custom domains and one-click iOS, Android and web publishing start on Standard. GitHub export, simulators and App Store submission assistance are listed on Pro.
- Extra editors are add-on seats: US$8 a seat a month on Standard and US$16 on Pro. Enterprise lists unlimited editor seats.
- AI agent work runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription or API key, or on Draftbit credits bought from US$5 at 1,000 credits per dollar.
- The pricing page does not mention Arabic, right-to-left layouts or a data region. Plan for those before a UAE customer app ships.
Draftbit vs custom app development: 2026 cost comparison
The Draftbit figures below come from draftbit.com/pricing as checked on 18 October 2026. AED amounts use the fixed 3.6725 AED/USD peg, before VAT. Aquarius prices are from our fixed AED app pricing page.
| Option | Published price | Approx. AED per year | What the plan lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draftbit Free | US$0 | AED 0 | 1 sandbox, visual editing, built-in Supabase backend (beta), 3,000 one-time credits, web publishing on draftbit.dev |
| Draftbit Standard | US$144/year or US$15/month | ≈ AED 529 (yearly) or AED 661 (monthly) | Unlimited projects and REST API integrations, full code editing and export, iOS, Android and web publishing, custom domains |
| Draftbit Pro | US$288/year or US$30/month | ≈ AED 1,058 (yearly) or AED 1,322 (monthly) | Up to 3 sandboxes, 5 agents, GitHub export, 14-day code backups, simulators, testing builds, App Store submission assistance |
| Draftbit Enterprise | Custom annual pricing | Quote only | Unlimited editor seats, SSO/SAML, custom SLAs, dedicated infrastructure, private or self-hosting options |
| Aquarius Custom App | From AED 10,000, fixed scope | One-off build, no subscription | Custom web or mobile app, AI features, auth, payments, dashboards, API and integrations, built and launched for you |
A worked example: 3 editors on Pro yearly cost about AED 2,468 a year (base plan plus two seats at US$16 a month), or about AED 7,404 over three years. The licence is cheap. The bigger cost is people: if your own developer spends three months building the app, their salary dwarfs the subscription. How Draftbit pricing adds up
Draftbit’s bill has three parts, and only one is the plan price.
- Editor seats. Standard and Pro include one editor. Each extra editor is an add-on at US$8 a seat a month on Standard or US$16 on Pro.
- AI usage. Draftbit says you can connect your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription, or an OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter key, and threads on your own key skip credits. Otherwise you buy credits, from US$5 at 1,000 credits per dollar. Credits expire one year after they are added.
- Plan features. Code export, custom domains and app store publishing need Standard or above. If you downgrade, Draftbit says those features lock until you upgrade again, and custom domains are disconnected after 30 days.
Draftbit also offers paid expert help for integrations, architecture and App Store launches. Its pricing page does not list those prices, so get a quote in writing before you rely on it.
Where Draftbit stops being enough in the UAE
Draftbit is a strong tool for a team that can build. Gaps show up when you need a delivered product, local compliance or bilingual design.
A tool, not a team
Draftbit speeds up building, but it does not scope your app, design the flows, write the backend rules or chase App Store review. Someone on your side has to own all of that. Our guide to publishing on the App Store and Google Play shows how much of launch is process, not code.
PDPL and where data lives
The pricing page does not state where app data or the built-in Supabase backend is hosted. Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) you need to know where personal data sits and who can reach it. Private or self-hosting is listed only on Enterprise. Our UAE PDPL compliance checklist covers what to document.
Arabic and right-to-left
The pricing page does not mention Arabic or RTL. Exported code can be changed, but mirrored layouts, Arabic fonts and mixed-direction forms still need design and testing on real phones in an Arabic locale.
Payments and security
A UAE consumer app usually needs a local gateway, 3-D Secure, VAT-correct invoices with your TRN and often WhatsApp OTP. Draftbit lists unlimited REST API integrations, so this is possible, but the server-side work and testing are still yours to do.
When Draftbit wins, and when custom wins
| Situation | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You have a developer and want to move fast | Draftbit | Visual editor and AI agents on exportable code |
| Prototype to test an idea with users | Draftbit | Free plan with web publishing on draftbit.dev |
| You want to own and export the code later | Draftbit | Full code export from Standard, GitHub export on Pro |
| No in-house developer, fixed launch date | Custom | A team scopes, builds, tests and launches to a fixed price |
| App takes AED payments or holds health or finance data | Custom | Gateway, 3-D Secure, VAT and PDPL handling built and tested |
| Bilingual Arabic/English product | Custom | Designed RTL and Arabic typography from day one |
| Need SSO or self-hosting without an enterprise contract | Custom | Built into scope at a fixed price |

Aquarius custom apps: AI-native delivery, fixed AED price
We use AI in delivery too, which is why our prices sit below a traditional Dubai agency. The difference is that our engineers do the work: they own the architecture, review every pull request, and sign off payments, PDPL data handling and Arabic RTL before launch. You get the repository and pay no subscription to keep the app running on our side.
| Aquarius tier | Price | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Business Site | AED 2,500 | Up to 8 pages, CMS, SEO + AEO foundation, AI chat assistant, EN/AR ready |
| Custom App | From AED 10,000 | Custom web or mobile app, AI features, auth, payments, dashboards, API and integrations |
| Build | AED 24,000 | Custom web or mobile app with AI features, auth, payments and dashboards |

FAQ
How much does Draftbit cost in the UAE in 2026?
Draftbit lists Standard at US$144 a year or US$15 a month, and Pro at US$288 a year or US$30 a month. At the 3.6725 peg that is about AED 529 and AED 1,058 a year on yearly billing. Enterprise is custom-priced, and extra editor seats cost US$8 or US$16 a seat a month.
Does Draftbit let you export code?
Yes. Full code editing and export are listed from the Standard plan, and Export to GitHub is listed on Pro. Draftbit says code export locks if you downgrade below the plan that includes it.
Do I need an AI subscription to use Draftbit?
No. Draftbit says you can connect a Claude or ChatGPT subscription or your own API key, or use Draftbit credits. The Free plan includes a one-time grant of 3,000 credits, and paid plans can buy more from US$5.
Does Draftbit support Arabic and right-to-left apps?
The pricing page does not mention Arabic or RTL. Because the code is exportable, RTL can be added, but it needs design and testing on Arabic-locale devices before launch.
Is a custom app cheaper than Draftbit in Dubai?
On licence cost alone, no: Draftbit Pro is about AED 1,058 a year. Once you count the developer time to build, test and launch, a fixed-scope custom app from AED 10,000 is often cheaper for teams without an in-house developer.
